React Native/Full Stack Developer

We are the HEIMA team, a small (but well-funded and growing) Icelandic startup. We’re developing a productivity app that helps families collaborate better on household work and manage mental load in a simple, fun, and fair way. You can find the HEIMA app here.

We are a team of three working out of our office in Iceland. This is the first time we are hiring, which means the right person will truly have the power to shape the HEIMA journey with us.

We are looking for a React Native / Full Stack Developer 👨‍💻👩‍💻

Our main goal is to create an exceptional user experience for families using HEIMA. To do this, we’re looking for a skilled developer who is excited about building scalable and performant software with cutting-edge tools. You’ll play a key role in shaping our product as we prepare for international growth and the technical challenges that come with it.

Our Tech Stack:

• Frontend: React Native, Expo, TypeScript, TanStack Query
• Backend: Node.js, TypeScript, tRPC, Prisma, Planetscale, Render
• Monorepo with Turborepo

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain HEIMA’s mobile app using React Native, TypeScript, and Expo.
• Build and improve our tRPC API and back-end services using Node.js and Prisma.
• Work closely with the team to design and implement new features.
• Optimize app performance and user experience, with a focus on reliability and responsiveness.
• Shape the tech stack, coding practices, and development processes at HEIMA.
• Play a key role in building a technical foundation for international expansion.
