Wuxi NextCODE and Genomics Medicine Ireland are part of a global life sciences company, having operations in Boston USA, Dublin Ireland and Reykjavik Iceland. The company is leading a large-scale research study looking at the human genome to examine the relationship between genetics, health and disease.

Job purpose

WuXi NextCODE is looking for a backend developer to work on our world-leading genomics platform. We are looking for a person that will help us deliver value to our customers and end-users as quickly as possible, while increasing quality and security.

Duties and responsibilities

• Develop and maintain our Kubernetes infrastructure and its cloud infrastructure

• Develop services to increase the security, robustness and agility of our genomics platform

• Develop and maintain a GitOps delivery pipeline

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc in Computer Science or equivalent is preferred

• We are looking for a person with experience and proficiency in some of the following:

• Developing and delivering large scale projects

• Container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes

• AWS or other cloud providers such as GCP and Azure

• Python or Golang

• Terraform or other Infrastructure-As-Code tools

• Security tools in software development

• Prioritising robustness and security when developing software

• Improving software development and the processes involved

• Automating work rather than doing manual things

• Has the end-user in mind when developing software

• Works well within a team and enjoys constructive collaboration

Extra credit for having experience in the following:

• Delivering software and infrastructure changes with the GitOps methodology

• Delivery tools within Kubernetes such as Helm and ArgoCD

• Monitoring solutions such as Prometheus and DataDog

• Log management solutions such as ElasticSearch and DataDog

• Writing against the Kubernetes API such as writing operators and CRDs

• Using automation tools such as Ansible
