Data Engineer

APRÓ is looking for a passionate and experienced Data Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll collaborate with experts in software development, cloud services, data technology, and artificial intelligence, solving challenging and innovative projects for our clients.

At APRÓ, you’ll be part of a team of Iceland’s leading IT specialists, building innovative data solutions and delivering high-quality technical consulting in modern cloud environments.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines and ETL processes
• Manage structured and unstructured data from various sources, ensuring quality and reliability
• Build and maintain data infrastructure on cloud platforms, focusing on AWS services
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven solutions tailored to client needs
• Implement data security and compliance measures in line with industry standards
• Stay updated on the latest tools and trends in data engineering

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related fields
• Proven experience in a data engineering or similar role
• Strong knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and database management
• Hands-on experience with tools such as Apache Spark, Kafka, or other data processing frameworks
• Proficiency in AWS data services (e.g., Glue, Redshift, S3, Lambda) is highly desirable
• Problem-solving mindset with a keen eye for detail
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in teams
