CCP Technical Director – Core Cluster

CCP is looking for a Technical Director to lead the development efforts of the Core Technology Server team. This person will make strategic decisions on the underlying technologies which support CCP’s current and future MMO’s, as we continue to lead the industry in the development of persistent virtual worlds. Any Applicant will require a broad and deep understanding of the technologies required to deliver highly scalable, high performance clusters as well as the ability to understand, direct and be involved in low level delivery.

The position will require strong and extensive technical architecture experience of a wide range of subject areas including distributed computing, highly scalable applications and infrastructure, web technologies and databases. This Technical Director will also have a proven track record in successful delivery in complex organizations with development teams in multiple locations. Excellent leadership and people skills and the ability to build strong teams and professional relationships will be fundamental to this position.

[] Primary technical leader and decision maker for the design and development of the next generation of CCP cluster technologies.
[] Collaboration with the Technical Directors of Eve Online and other Technical Directors across CCP to collaboratively build CCP’s shared technology position.
[] Make strategic technology decisions for the Core server technologies.
[] Provide technical leadership and mentorship to local architects and programmers.

[b]Required experience/Background/Skills:[/b]

[] Typically requires Masters or equivalent in computer science
[] 10+ years experience architecting very large, scalable, high performing server clusters
[] Ability to define and direct the delivery of a holistic technical architecture for the CCP server clusters
[] 5+ years experience in a position of technical leadership
[] Strong interpersonal and communication skills
[] A proven record of successful delivery
