The Senior Network Programmer will be responsible for developing MMO features for EVE Online that require a strong knowledge of distributed computing. The EVE cluster is a single sharded gaming universe with over 330,000 players and a peak concurrent user count of over 56,000. This is a massive real time simulation and the only such gaming universe operating at this scale. This architecture adds a level of complexity unseen in any other MMO and we are looking for someone with experience in similar supercomputing environments to help lead the development of heavily multi-nodal features and systems. The position involves mentoring of other engineers on distributed systems development as well as partnering with the Game Design team to help them understand the network impact of the features they propose to develop.

This position will also have some operations facing responsibilities. The Senior Network Programmer will assist the Operations team in doing cluster monitoring and analysis as well as helping to debug distributed systems issues in production.
