Engineering Manager

Videntifier Technologies are a fast growing high-tech company that provides high-speed image and video identification solutions. Our technical breakthrough is a large-scale visual fingerprinting search engine that can index and search vast amounts of videos and images. In an instant, Videntifier can identify the source of even a single frame, even when modified – rotated, cropped, picture-in-picture, transcoding etc. We have chiefly been serving the forensic market, e.g. INTERPOL and the US’ National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and are now also entering other markets.
 

Videntifier is looking for an exceptional Software Engineering Manager for our R&D department – a passionate and skilled leader to build and lead a high performing team of software engineers. Strong technical capability, a passion for delivering high quality products and great people skills are at the top of what we’re looking for.
 

Duties and responsibilities:
  — Build and lead a software engineering team through agile development methodologies to deliver top-class software.
  — Design project plans for individual software components and product releases. Ensure that milestones are met and the software is delivered on time, in collaboration with management and QA/Deployment.
  — Mentor the individual team members and assign them a role they are most comfortable with and perform best within the team. Constantly raise the bar of the overall team performance.
  — Communicate with sales and product leaders to ensure that strategy and roadmaps effectively support market needs.
  — Define core technology development and research focus together with CTO and company management.
 

Requirements:
  — MSc or BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent with 5+ years of software development experience
  — 3+ years experience in software project management (preferably within a multi-national team)
  — Experience with Agile software development concepts
  — Strong leadership skills and excellent technical understanding in order to win trust and authority within the development team
  — Interest in the development of complex, high-performance software systems that deals with large quantities of data.
